Tips + Tricks for Travel

Tip #1

Bring ear plugs or headphones : ALWAYS. I feel like besides my passport, this is the number one thing I check for before I leave for the airport. I love listening to music on flights while I’m working because the normal plane noises (people coughing, babies crying, etc.) drive me nuts. Especially when everyone is on a different schedule and you’re trying to get work done or a nap in, the headphones are super crucial.

Tip #2

Always talk to the front desk agent : I can’t stress this enough. Always ask the front desk to get on that upgrade list if you aren’t in an upgraded seat. Most of the time they can’t do much but those few times you get lucky are SO worth it.

Tip #3

Pack your shoes in your carry on : Life hack that has changed packing for me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shown up to the airport and had to repack my suitcase because my checked bag was too heavy.

Case in point : Turks + Caicos. I was crouched down in the airport unpacking and repacking all my suitcases because the $100 oversized baggage fee was not going to fucking happen. Anyways, what I learned is your shoes are much heavier so swap those into your carry-on and leave your swimsuits + clothes in the checked bag.

Tip #4

Pack slippers for a long flight : The best thing I did for myself on the flight to Paris. It was so nice to slip off my sneakers and throw them into the bin and slip on a pair of comfy slippers to move around in for the long flight. Plus, my feet were so happy and I didn’t have to be that bitch that has her shoes off on an airplane. Because that shit grosses me out too.

Tip #5

BYOW : Bring your own water. I HATE plane water and normally always bring a bottled water on the flight with me. I read an article somewhere that said none of the flight attendants drink plane water and that was enough for me to swear off it. It’s super important to stay hydrated during the flight to help fight jet lag and it’s easier to do that when you like the taste of the water!

Hope these tips help you on your next trip!

Cheers! xx
